I was listening to the news this morning about people flocking to the Space Coast for one last farewell...and it got me thinking...when I was six, Humankind was going to the moon. My little boy is now six - and he will be growing up with (essentially) no manned space exploration at all. I do not view these developments as a step forward! Although I willingly accept NASA has outgrown its mission and it may well be (past) time to put that old dog down, the reality that our exploratory progress is moving backwards is just plain wrong. We are humans - ok, hammerheads - ever onward, ever forward - stepping back from the brink is, IMO, contrary to our innate nature and this cannot end well.
