I was listening to the news this morning about people flocking to the Space Coast for one last farewell...and it got me thinking...when I was six, Humankind was going to the moon. My little boy is now six - and he will be growing up with (essentially) no manned space exploration at all.

I do not view these developments as a step forward! Although I willingly accept NASA has outgrown its mission and it may well be (past) time to put that old dog down, the reality that our exploratory progress is moving *backwards* is just plain wrong.

We are humans - ok, hammerheads - ever onward, ever forward - stepping back from the brink is, IMO, contrary to our innate nature and this cannot end well.
