Hello Madharry,

I meant to respond to you before, but maybe there's something to be learned between the two of us. It looks like you and I both did well over the 2008-2010 period compared to the indexes, but this year we're seriously underperforming. I'm with you that I would need several up-days to get back to break-even, even with the indexes up on the year.

I think that overall we share a decent amount of gold/silver stocks (I've owned over 10% in GDXJ for over a year). I've had several small cap oil plays over the last year, and I've dabbled in some chinese stocks. I also have some large cap tech value plays.

My guess is that these combinations were doing well in 2010 and they're bringing us down in 2011, as we're overweight in these areas compared to the general indexes. Thoughts?

Thanks,

Grant
