Energy Secretary Steven Chu said the more-efficient bulbs required would save consumers money over the life of the product, even if the up-front price is higher.

“We are taking away a choice that continues to let people waste their own money,” he said.


You've gotta be kidding me. That's one of the most convoluted, contradictory, stupid sentences that I've read in quite a while. Sad state of affairs when we've got dim bulbs like Chu running the nanny state we're living in these days..
