Neil:

What Ted posted was about some Republican senators saying that the poorer section of the American society need to bear a increased burden of taxes. Such a statement reflects what the Tea Party stands for. And that is how I extended the discussion to the Tea Party.

You can only convince me about the intentions of the Tea Party not being what I said in my post if you can clarify for me the following:

1. Why is it that the Tea Party came into existence right after Obama took office? The country was going down the drain for the 8 years that Bush was in office. Why didn't these people band together to sound the alarm then that they are doing today. There was no Tea Party right up until the Presidential elections in 2008. Or was there one and we didn't know about it!!!

2. That the Tea Party is not confrontational would be something I would believe if they stop opposing Republican candidates who are for reaching deals and agreements with the Democrats, a very basic approach for a democratic process. Their refusal to negotiate and to have it their way always is what anarchists do. If they do not believe in the democratic process wherein it is essential to accommodate all points of view, then they have no right to the freedoms that we, the believers in democracy do.

I am as fearful of the Tea Party as I am fearful of the Al Qaeda, which is also a populist movement which has spread to the US as evidenced by the sleeper cells. The Tea Party lost many of their candidates such as the Senatorial seats in Alaska, Delaware, Nevada. So what sort of a populist movement is it?

The Tea Party is a bunch of racists who are alarmed at the diversity this nation is emerging into. They want to preserve their wealth and their property.
