Michele Bachmann Hopes People Will Stay Unemployed, So It Will Help Her Campaign July 9, 2011 By Matthew Desmond Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, who is running for the Republican Presidential nomination in 2012, was on CNBC yesterday to discuss the jobs report from June. During the interview she was asked whether or not she believes higher unemployment will help her chances of winning in 2012. The host, Carl Quintanilla asked Bachmann; “Does it strike you that as the unemployment rate goes up, your chances of winning office also go up?” To which Bachmann replied; “Well, that could be. Again, I hope so,”
