Like long-lived marriages, a society's resilience is determined not by the good times, but how it handles adversity. TeamUSA has weathered numerous wars, economic depression/recessions, political assassinations, racial upheaval, and major socioeconomic change and has not yet imploded. Perhaps this time is different...perhaps not. Team China certainly has a glorious start, but all of the various opinions of its future are meaningless. Only time will judge its resilience in the face of certain adversities.
