I don't short based on valuation only - i want a short term (negative of course) catalyst. I also like companies with a lot of debt, since this will generate "gravity" to the stock once it starts to fall.

But overall you are asking the wrong person, my shorts in aggregate have probably lost me money. I do try to do more of it but regard it more of a portfolio hedge (short something rather than sell long positions) rather than be profitable on their own.

Shorting based on valuation alone does not work for me. After all, once valuation does not matter for the longs, what prevents them to run it up to even crazier levels ? - nothing!
