I installed the same retrofits in my kitchen (4 of them).
The light quality is excellent and I am very happy with my purchase. It’s nice to know that my brightly illuminated kitchen is only consuming 42 watts and those 4 "bulbs" should never need replacing in my lifetime.
These recess can retrofits are manufactured by CREE for Home depot and are sold under HD’s “ECO” brand. $50 ea.
Calculating the savings in energy cost, heat load (reduced AC load) and replacement bulbs I’ll have recouped my initial cost in 3 yrs. Not bad. And they look nice too.
