Take a look at this, BAC was increasing its exposure to Italy and Spain during the first quarter and not by insignificant numbers. Makes you wonder who is running its risk management desk:

No wonder it has lost 50% of its value in the last few months.

And it has agreed to pay mega-billions to settle its mortgage exposure.

If it well and truly hits the fan in Europe, my guess is that BAC does not have the reserves to deal with a serious bout of contagion.

It might well be that BAC may eventually go the way of Lehman. No way will the public put up with another bail out.
