No, random chance did. Unless you think God "chooses" people to die by not intervening when he certainly has the capability to do so.

But then you gotta ask yourself why your idea of a God is one that never allows any tragedy to happen, especially to the most innocent of lives.

Like I said, if you subscribe to the notion that we're all living on "borrowed time," then it's easy to understand the reactions of the survivors in Tuscaloosa and Joplin.

Otherwise you'll be shaking your fist at God and his believers every time something bad happens. "Where was your God when _________ happened?"

And that doesn't take much "critical thinking." Just a choice not to believe in God. Then all you have left is random chance.
