I'm not sure, but I think they may have gotten ahead of themselves on this. OTOH, they NEED to raise prices to cover the cost of the content they've been spending so much money on.

I missed the last $50 of runup on NFLX because I was concerned about all this spending, but the price hike, I first thought, would mitigate that. Now, the fallout seems rougher than maybe they expected from it.

I cannot imagine they did this without excellent statistics as to how many people stream vs.get DVDs vs. both. I would think that data would be clear cut enough to have made the decision straightforward. But maybe not.

Anyway, for the moment, I'm glad I don't have any calls on it. I'm for sure going to stay out until the dust settles.
