For those seeking insight into Apple's NEW distribution strategy, read...

Some Question Apple's Distribution Strategy
techweb.com

As of Dec. 15, direct purchase volume req. cuts off at $2M yr. Was $20M yr.
Number of distributors cut to two: Ingram Micro, MicroAge.
Apple cites reason as cutting costs and reducing channel inventory.

This would make sense. Inventory price protection agreements with distributors can be very expensive when newer models are introduced, or when the distributor overstocks specific models.

Lowering direct purchase volume requirements to dealers, coupled with fast drop ship techniques could improve the accuracy of channel inventory estimates while reducing costs attributed to volatile priceing strategies.

This stock seems to me to be a bargain at 18 1/2. I wish more people could agree with that. Up 1/16 on a day like today? ... Sheesh!

Good hunting!
