Well, people...I got a story to tell.

if it protects some of you and your families down the road, that would be good.

yep, it can happen to anybody.

Two years ago my only child. my little baby girl, got arrested for PWID.

in a school zone.....at 1st we were told she could face +10 years......

Then it looked like maybe 4 years.....in PA you have mandatory sentencing for school zones.

1st time offenders get no mercy.

We got a call from an "inmate advocate" on a Sunday morning telling us she was arrested and later released but had to appear the next day for a hearing.

we had no idea where she was, they kept the car, her money, cell phone etc. and turned her loose downtown. She was too scared to try to call home so she hopped the light rail and headed for a mall she was familiar with. We drove for hours before we finally found her.

Since I didn't kill her when she got into the car, she had an opportunity to speak.

"I was set up, A guy who knows my friend did this" "His name is H.J. and I bought weed from him."

To say the next few days were living hell would be an understatement. Being accused of selling pot is one thing, being accused of selling it out of your mother's daycare is another. By afternoon Monday, the daycare my wife owned for 20 years had 4 local news trucks in the parking lot and A.P had walked in with a camera crew.

I was home when I got the call from the wife. Then a local news rep called the house. I told him there was more to the story and I would give him the facts when it was over.

Well, here's the story.

All I had to go on was...H.J. and the city he lived in.

I had a resource who still needs to be protected. We searched a data base, that we should not have gotten into and found what looked to be this filthy crack smoking (I changed the C----S------ to crack smoking to keep this PG), felon bastard with a rap sheet from infancy. He was facing time, lotsa time, for a recent arrest and needed to toss somebody in the fire. He chose the person least likely to kill him. He didn't know, I was going to be the investigator on the case.

I found him,
I found his history.
I found his family
I found his CI deal with the locals
I found the arrest that the cops hid
I found PFA's
I found death threats
I found an order to my kid to sell 1/2 ounce of pot to a "family guy, gonna marry my sister" on mySpace (that single sheet of paper turned out to have great value)
His daddy is the Mother of all Snitches, 13 felony arrests, almost no jail time.
I found the time line that released him of jail time at the same time my kid was arrested
I found the arresting officer had a "history" of his own. PFA,divorce, child custody, pepper spraying a visibly intoxicated prisoner in a holding cell who then, 45 minutes later, hung himself, an arrest in N.C. for threatening to kill his X-wife, home foreclosure, running over a pedestrian with a patrol car in a McDonald's parking lot.......

well, with those two histories, my kid was looking more truthful every day. So I decided, since I knew facts that the police couldn't possibly know that I know, I would design a series of questions for our attorney to be asked at the preliminary hearing that the arresting officer could not possibly expect. I was in the room. It became a verbal fistfight between the cop and our attorney.

The cop perjured himself. Most likely obstructed justice. Given sufficient time the cop violated, Brady, Giglio and Napue. The arrest reports did not mention the CI involvement. The cop referred to the CI as a "concerned citizen" that gave them a lead.

The ADA was turning colors because she either knew or knew she had to learn, that there was a CI involved and she also knew charges were never filed on multi felonies that he got in turn for getting my kid arrested. I knew the OTN number of an arrest that did not show up on the docket. They had to think our attorney could never have found this info.

It gets better. It seems one of the motives the police had was the confiscation and liquidation, only through felony arrest, of my wife's Mercedes e320 that the kid was driving when she got arrested. They've had the car for 2 years now. Two days after her arrest the arresting officer obtained a warrant to search for records, our records, not the kids, at our insurance agent and every foreign car dealer with in 20 miles of our home. He needed to try to connect the car to the kid. There was no connection. But the evidence points to his focus on the value/ownership of the car for department money. Shared of course with the DA's office.

I put together all of this info and presented it to our attorney. He could not believe his eyes. And, he had a problem, he really didn't want to destroy the cops career,(which I'm about to do) or toss shit on the DA's office,(which I will do by proxy) btw, there were 3 ADA's that worked this case. Finally the last one said,' You're going to win in court, I might as well make a deal"

Objective entrapment works like this: if the cops or their agents see a potential to DESIGN an arrest, by lining up all the players over time, and a person is ultimately manipulated into taking part in this crime, they are not guilty of the crime.

They dropped the charges last week. Two years of fear, expulsion from college, family crisis, destroyed reputation, $30,000 in cash, loss of a business (people don't send their kids to daycare where drugs are sold)...etc....etc.....total loss, about a half million.

and that's how I spent my last two summer vacations. And I didn't expect this, but I am now a Private Dick. That makes me a better dick that I was 2 years ago.

So, lesson to learn:Drug Dealing 101. Make a list of suckers that you can give to the police so that when you are facing time in the big house, somebody else serves the time.

If it were not for a dirty cop, a really dirty CI, the propensity of bad cops to perjure themselves and my having a few police friends that gave direction, my kid would be in jail.

The kid goes back to college in September ( older and wiser I hope), I've got a new career, the wife might enjoy driving a school bus and pissing around the house vs 13 hour days.....

And you know, if it were not for the likes of some of the penny stock thieves I ran into 10 years ago when I joined this place, I might not have molded my thought process the way I have.....Still lost a fortune, but I'm smiling.

Next step, I have to hold a news conference so that the truth gets to GOOGLE where all the nasty shit is.

I have a coffee mug that says, "Piss me off, Pay the consequences" I never took it that phrase all that seriously before...
