TJ, C2, others here. <Just curious -- how many people do you know that actually own physical gold? > Of the people who don't have money, none of them have gold. Of those with mortgages, few if any. Even gold was actual money, not many people had gold. Silver was more common as coins. Or copper coins.

Here is how mob mentality could arrive, with pitchforks. The public cry could go up "Repudiate the loans, introduce a gold standard". That would be gold mob mentality even while few own actual gold.
