US has no long term plan. All that matters to the Dem and Repub pols is winning the next election and collecting all the grease $'s and they don't care who supplies said $'s. Sadly, China's toughtest choice is being torn between licking it's chops at the opportunity and laughing at the situation. When i left the sales side of the IT biz in 2001, outsourcing and offshoring were in their early stages of money making consulting concepts used by the major consulting co's in the states to sell software and services. Ya that sure worked out well. Easy to use the rear view mirror, but seems like none of the US pols are even looking out the farkin windshield let alone planning a comeback.
