Have u ever tried putting 4 tennis balls on a floor, tightly grouped in a square, sit down in front of them and then slowly lay back so two are on each side of your spine. Got to do it so the balls remain in tight formation LOL.

Control the pressure on your spine with your feet pressure on the floor and slowly relax onto the balls. Then use your feet to roll your spine up and down and on the balls to test for pain spots.

Key is once you find the pain spots, and there will probably be a few, relax and deep breath for a while on each spot. Welcome the pain and relax into it.

Don't be alarmed if you hear and feel some big pops. Unless you can't move again LOL. It works well for me and I do it several times per trading session.

Been doing it for 25 years after a bad back incident. On no drugs since then and I enjoy golf, cycling, jogging and I sit to work the markets thru the trading day.

Just a suggestion. I also stand up regularly and push my hands above my head and focus on elongating the spine towards the ceiling using my hands as the lead. Focus on lifting the back of your head vertically towards the ceiling while changing the curvature of your spine from front to back not side to side. Flex and relax various core muscles and whenever you feel back tension from that relax into it and hold the position.

Play with it until you find pain and then relax into it while stretching more.

Breathing and relaxing the muscles on either side of the spine while doing this yields some more pops for me, but no pops if just after the tennis ball exercise.

Does a great job on the mid to upper spine. I use other stretches to get the hip to lower spine in line. Those are more focused on the hip and quad/ham muscles.

Not going to mention ab and core exercises as no one enjoys them.
