I read the entire thing with much interest and did not disagree with Dalio though I did think he is bound by his internal machinery, using 1000 free-thinking employees to try to escape his bounds, unsuccessfully.

Obtaining an externality is hard work. SI provides some, though normally weak. But at least I don't have to pay them, or manage them. Just read what they write, compare with other things, and think.

I have found some contacts who would be otherwise unavailable to me, and they are the best people on the planet in their fields. As well as which they are enjoyable people. Plus the myriad others who provide input in a huge number of ways. It's like a private hedge fund system, but open to everyone to read and join. Open source hedge-funding though without the 15% tax advantage of an actual hedge fund.
