"Nothing destroys jobs faster a bloated, intrusive government."

Maybe. Since we aren't even close to that, there are other reasons...

"CEOs cannot reasonably be expected to believe this when the government is on an idiotic spending binge in a futile effort to prop up the economy. "

Nonsense. The real problem is lack of demand. As has been proven repeatedly. And there won't be any demand until people have jobs and feel secure.

Just look at other countries. Ireland and Britain have put in place austerity measures. The result? Their economies have tanked, resulting in higher costs due to higher unemployment and social services. OTOH, look at the countries who had worker protections during the near depression, like Germany and the Nordic countries. They are doing great. Their unemployment is well below where ours is and their economies are expanding.
