Eliot,

[Half-Empty]
Yes, the GTE announcement is good news, but it was not as definitive or as far-reaching as some would have liked. It would have been nice if more sites, more users, and perhaps lower prices were part of the announcement. It would have also been positive if AMTX were also mentioned in the press release, as the BC business (start with WSTL CAP and then move to ALA DMT) has left a bad taste in many a mouth, and leaves many people fearing that ALA might yet snare GTE's longer term DMT business. So, as you can see, some people will take this to mean the glass is half empty.

[Half Full]
Any contract is better than none, and this does seem to confirm that WSTL is working closely with GTE and has the relationships that can and should lead to larger contracts. In addition, although anything is possible I just don't see ALA beating out AMTX for the DMT portion of GTE's business. WSTL has a good relationship, and AMTX has seemed like it was doing extremely well with GTE in terms of building a relationship and proving the superiortiy of their technology. Also, one might look at this contract as a starting point, which will be followed by further elaboration and expansion of the rollout over the next few months.

I'm way long, so I'll tend to see the glass as half full, but I can definitely see where the half-empties are coming from.

Regards, Bret
