Greg: They call it "Concensus Making", they have been doing it since the Nikkei crashed from 40,000 till now. The phony thing is that their timing stinks. They bought into the US realestate market at the peaks and then sold at the bottom (remeber the Rockfeller Center? to name just one). They could have started to liquify when the dollar wa under 100 yean/4, but no, they'll do us a favor and wait for the dollar to get crash throughn $130, and Rubin will have to go there on his knees and tell them, NOW fellas, NOW, get a double whamo, stop the dollar climb and reliquify for the same price. Maybe, they will listen.
