They closed their eyes to the policy of extraordinary rendition - kidnapping and exporting of Muslims to other countries where they were tortured. They closed their eyes to war crimes - targeting of civilians, invasion/occupation of countries without declaration of war, use of white phosphorus as a weapon, cluster bombing, etc., etc.... I could go on and on... Now we have a extreme right winger doing mass murder and everyone is forgetting about it! And I'm confident if they had decided now to start incarcerating and torturing members of the Aryan Nations, the John Birch Society, the Tea Party or any other extreme right wing group, there would be howls of protest... I don't advocate any of this. Hypocrisy on a world class scale. This illustrates clearly the intolerance and racism widespread in the wingers.
