Similar thing happened with another gentleman - Bush Sr. He kept repeating about Clinton - "I think character matters"... "ladies and gentlemen, I happen to think that character matters"... Remember thinking - mr. Bush, if you have the goods on ol' Bill, spill them. If you don't, then change the subject. He just kept repeating these same words at every opportunity, like a mantra - until he was retired. Seeing this thing through is what Boehner is getting paid for. I believe that personally he may be a decent guy... but if he is too thin skinned, let him step aside and let someone else do the job. I am not against a compromise.... but whatever happens, being inarticulate and intellectually sluggish about it should NOT be an option.
