at the risk of raising your ire by beating a dead horse, if you want to buy into an asset manager whats wrong with cowen and company . your are buying at a big discount to tangible net worth and the company has over the years done a good job of investing. im still losing a fair amount on this one i harvest tax losses bought more in tax deferred accounts and restablished some in the cash account to. OT how is everyone faring this year? I estimate im down about 9% YTD now. given the disaster that has been gfre/gure rhymes with manure now, i cant complain too much. another post by a shortie on seekingalpha drove the stock down. IMHO for him to speculate that the current cpa will resign is highly speculative and might be legally actionable especially since the cpa did not do so after all the other negative hyperbole came out and before the company hired deloitte to review the accounting controls. I also dont know what the legalities are about someone quoting from a research report done by someone else. if it turns out to be wrong is it slanmder or free speech?
