Well the people from TI were over at the 3com booth handing out X2 ball caps...I got a nice one. I checked out their duel anolog modems$800? and cable modems and was not impressed. I was at Diamonds booth and checked out their double k56flex modem, w/shotgun technology and it will be only $200 this spring. Its called the SupraSonicII its 112K its just one modem 2 phone lines...sounds great! The folks at Ascend were very nice people, I have tons of information on their products and lots of reading. I talked to an engineer about max tnt heat problems he says there never were any. We talked about the bogus test between the Max tnt and Cisco's 5300. He said they weren't under realistic situations, we have aleady heard the spin on that. I showed him my X2 hat and told him how large 3Coms booth was...He said they were just selling modems?But he was going down there to see if he could get a hat.I told him 3Com said there were 80% more IPS using X2 modems. He told me that could be true only there were more ports using k56flex. I mentioned the employees stock option re-pricing and he knew nothing about that. We talked about the fall of the stock price and how everyone seemed to be beating up on Ascend. He said they were having to spend more time defending themselves.
