craig, Yes, the opening push is abetted by short covering, but I don't think that's even half the story. Seems to me the price is arbitrarily pegged higher whenever possible at the open to create apparent demand and establish a position of strength from which to unload shares. That kind of open with absolutely no follow through? Why are all the "buyers" always at 9:00? A bit too fishy for me...
