Never received a response to my email or to a phone call with OPL last week. Got a hold of Mike McCoy, the CFO in the U.S. yesterday.

He was apologetic for the lack of response to my email and phone call.Nonetheless I sure did not feel any great joy in having to deal with me , yet another investor. Seems they have been swamped of late by the number of investors that have contacted OPL and by his estimates without particularly good questions. Apparently many contacting are just expecting a sale of the Poet technology each day etc. etc. In the proud tradition of CFO's everywhere he was not particularly smooth in investor relations. He says most investors do not understand the company, do not understand even that OPL will never be making chips themselves.

Nonetheless I was able to make my point that it is their press releases which have established certain expectations and that the extended process has left OPL with a credibility gap, ie at the current stock price their is little belief by the market that OPl will succeed with Poet. He very clearly believes they are undervalued as a solar growth stock. Which is debatable I suppose, but I do understand his point because it is a growth situation and I am sure he has a feel for the increase of business in the last qrtr, which should expand upon the prior increase, small numbers but large % gains. I asked if we would get the actual total value of the Chinese solar contracts and he assured me that would be made public, although not when.

As for choosing an investment banker, he emphasized that the technology comprehension makes it difficult especially when there are multiple factors: 1. will they look to license. 2. will they sell it outright. 3. do they do both, sell POET platform and maintain a royalty 4. the military aspect is one in which there are additional considerations and I got the distinct impression whoever is to become their financial advisor will need to be acceptable to the U.S. military. The last point I can see as a major complication but I still find it hard to comprehend the length of the process thus far.

Still a couple of things to go on the integrated chip. He certainly ended the call by stating, in what struck me as complete sincerity that they are indeed making appreciable progress and he has the utmost faith in positive outcomes.

No great revelations everyone. but I like the consolidation down here and have been adding between .72 to .75

We shall see what comes of it.

Cheers
