"Marcos sorry to contradict you, not such a thing as Palestinians, (the Philistines from teh Bible, disapeared curtesy of the Roman Empire) but those so called "Palestinians" are no else than arabs from neighboring countries which were expelled from their communities (mostly unwanted there) and wandered to what is now Israel in search of work."

Well, feel free to contradict, if we all agreed on everything we wouldn't be here, there would be no market, no politics, no theatre, no reason to think, no reason for John Lennon to "Imagine..."

Do you mean to say that Palestine was devoid of an indigenous population until the Zionist movement brought Jewish in-migration? If so, on what evidence do you base this belief? Perhaps you're right, I should read more -g-

" Furhtermore most of the Midle Eastern states were "invented" by the British Empire so they would have better control over nomad people."

Nolo contendere. Permit me to apologize for the British side of my ancestry, who while they operated an empire made a number of damaging judgement calls, among them making conflicting mutually exclusive promises to Jews and to Arabs [you see - I have read a bit -g-].

But as empires are wont to do, the British one has long past, and the American Empire controls the airspace and the majority of economic power, while the Jewish Empire controls that little bit of ground in the middle of the Muslim sea -- for the time being. Recent actions by those players could perhaps begin to share some culpability.

It takes two to tango.

To this Agnostic, the basis of the belief that the Jews are the Chosen People of God and that Palestine is rightfully their Promised Land has no higher moral basis than the Arabs' resentment of their presence. Israel holds the ground through military force, propped up by American economic aid, no more, no less. There are a great many American dollars and a strong political will to supply them, so they will likely hold it a while longer, but it would not hurt their cause to treat those (non-existent) subjugated Palestinians with a degree of consideration and respect.

"So maybe based on your theory Texas should go back to Mexico with California included!~~"

Verdad! Me entiendes, claro .... Now we're talkin'.... and don't forget about the Alaskan Panhandle that blocks Yukon access to the sea, along with the Canadian salmon those thieving Alaskan fishermen have been taking. Oh, and Oregon.....

I wonder how many americanos who've had the Davy Crockett "Remember the Alamo" story drilled into them have ever even tried to imagine the theft of Texas from a mexicano point of view. Or how many ranting against Canadian business in Cuba are willing to start making payments on property stolen in the 1770s from those Canadians' ancestors....

It's all in the point of view, Haim ......... Lachaim ....... marcos
