At what point is it necessary to resort to violence to protect / defend ones beliefs?

If you have a monstrous totalitarian government it would be perfectly reasonable (although very dangerous, its something you want to think through carefully beforehand) to engage in violence against it.

Of course Norway, while its hardly an example of perfect freedom, is very far from being a monstrous totalitarian government. Also even if it was, the children that where shot down where not agents of the government.
