Should we abandon use of algorithms? Of course not. They're wonderful tools. But with respect to global finance, anyone who tells you the risks are understood and under control is lying. Not mistaken: lying.

One cannot separate positive human values from the use of tools because it's the only force that can keep their power in check. Yet it appears that some of these new ones can take on a life of their own and all that remains to be seen is what comes next.

Coming to you soon, from labs working feverishly all around the country. Expect hot and cold flushes.
