What happened to the large portion of the returned TARP money? It was believed it would go to retiring the debt. I believe it was returned to the general treasury and spent on rat hole projects etc. When referencing the TARP I never hear about what happened to the returned TARP funds.

So when discussing the TARP as a necessary expenditure I can stomach that part although I didn't believe in it. What I can't stomach is they never mention the returned TARP funds as an additional spending slush fund.
