I haven't invested in APM yet, but am giving it a good hard look. In general, I tend to be a short term investor and tend to fish close to the bottom. I don't recall seeing any stocks with PEs under 10 that did not double in price within 6 months. The research I do tends to be that which can be done quickly and generally consists of TA (price/volume bar charts, short term MA and stochastics), news, latest 10Q, inside trading, and a quick sample of investor sentiment on the threads (Bad is good, negative sentiment is the classic symptom of bottoms.). A bad quarter is not the end of the world as some folks seem to think and often represents a buying opportunity in the middle of an otherwise good run. Todays action suggests that it will probably retest 16, but if it holds it should be a steal at current levels.
My weak point is in trying to understand the technology of several hundred tech stocks, and market acceptance of their various products. If you or anyone else on the thread could give me a quick overview or provide links to information a layman could follow, I'd very much appreciate it.
