Derivatives, yeah, no clients? This area blew in
2008 and never recovered. Huge competition in HFT
now too, and quite
a bit less clients, so I heard. Some firms are doing
proprietary HFT, others are client-oriented, software
that helps large clients enter or exit a position
efficiently, i.e., without driving a stock to da moon
or to zero.

If what you say about liquidity is true, we could
flash crash again. This ain't 1987, it's 2011. Markits
are faster, algos crash them in nanoseconds. -g-
