Not even Democrats want to mention the word "taxes." They always have to hide behind the euphemism "revenue component."

Unless you think the federal government develops iPads and sells them for a profit, who do you think provides the "revenue component" in the federal budget?

Let's not forget that Democrats don't want to let all of the Bush tax cuts expire. Just those for households making $250K or more.

Like I said, the whole context of the debate is being framed by the Tea Party. Spending cuts take up the vast majority of the headlines, and "revenue component" is quickly becoming a taboo subject.

The only "victory" you can hope for is the wild hope that the Tea Party will implode and the context of the debate will dramatically shift left. Maybe then even Krugman will be a happy panda.
