Not necessarily. That would be the case if you used the money solely to effect an individual financial entitlement. But to the extent that you use the money to provide opportunity, not so much.

That makes sense if you read the notion of taxation as an opportunity provider/distributor rather than zero-sum redistributionist. That could have been what he had in mind.

I imagine that the tax and spenders, like Obama, view both objectives favorably. I have a big problem with the notion of entitlements beyond opportunity but I can't take issue with reasonable taxation to promote opportunity.
