Nice gains today and comeback from the lows. Have you read the thread today? Do you detect a hint of desperation? If I owned, I would have been looking for better than this.

My feeling is that the technologies with inherently superior bandwith will be the longer term winners. Fiber, HFC, coax, and copper in that order.

A bit up the road (15/20 min drive time) a large gated community is being built out with fiber to the home. One of the sales points is the high speed intranet which will link within the complex and nearby businesses, and provide high speed internet access. Copper makes no sense for a new build.

ADSL is purely an interim technology, although the interim may be 20 years. Fiber will rule in the long run. Winners in xDSL will be the lowest cost solutions. Right now WSTL and the other frontrunning ADSL companies are high priced spread and stuck between the proverbial rock and hard. $200/line and the telcos buy in. The big players will be there with that price.

Just MHO FWIW. Don't let me discourage you. You just might be right.

Leo, playing the devil's man
