ConocoPhillips Acquires Niobrara Shale Acreage In Colorado
nasdaq.com

ConocoPhillips (COP) said Thursday it has agreed to buy 46,000 acres in the Niobrara Shale from Lario Oil & Gas in Colorado.

The deal comes two weeks after the oil giant unveiled plans to split its production-and-exploration and refining arms into two standalone companies next year.

Houston-based ConocoPhillips didn't disclose the price of the transaction, but said it represents a " significant investment." Conoco will operate the acquired leases, the company said.

I know AXAS, VOG and SSN all own Niobrara shale acreage. Here are others from my Niobrara watch list:
WIL, CRZO, DBLE, CLR, PQ, BBG, QEP, REXX, APC, PDC, SYRG and SDCJF. COP did not disclose what they paid but I am sure it will leak out.
