Worldwide orders of semiconductor- making equipment made in Japan rose 100.4% in September from the same month a year earlier to 153.8 billion yen ($1.23 billion), the Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan said.
That's the eighth straight month of increase in orders of Japanese chip-making equipment.
