I think Obama was the ONLY (D) in a position to change the dynamic so that the end result was at least FAIR. He totally failed.

I've seen a (D) president WIN these things. Bill Clinton LET the (R)'s shut down the government. The country blamed THEM, Newt lost all power, and the country was better for it.

LOL. You don't win with kamekazi pilots. This isn't a level playing field. Rs have been and continue to be willing to drive this country off a cliff. Wingers on FAMD still contend that nothing bad would happen if the US defaulted. Direct your anger at them.........Obama could only do what a sane person and a responsible president could do. Prevent default. Hopefully, you would have done the same.

And this wasn't about shutting down the gov't........but something much, much, much worse. And in spite of what looks to be its conclusion, considerable damage has been done to this country and its rep.
