No, Ted, it WAS about shutting down the government. When Newt shut down the government, SS checks didn't go out, Fed employees stayed home, contractors were given IOUs, and after a few days of that, the (R)'s caved.
If Obama was forced shut down the government to make bond payments, it would have had exactly the same results. But, it takes BALLS to bet America.
If the (R)'s are going to hold me hostage, I WANT Obama to say - "Sure, go ahead and kill him!" The ONLY strategy that defeats terrorists is to not allow yourself be terrorized. Ask Israel. |
