Silverlight and Flash are both dead ends and dying. HTML5 development is accelerating. Establishing specifications for HTLM5 has been pushed forward to 2014.

To quote an Adobe exec:

"To that end, Hatwich revealed that Adobe is developing Edge with a "rapid release cycle" as part of the design. Numerous updates to the pre-release software are planned for the coming months, adding new features and functionality as the team builds toward a 1.0 release."

It's been reported that Facebook is heavily targeting development and implementation of features of HTML5. Now it's a race between companies to develop HTML5 and lots of resources are being poured into the effort. Apple has been the catalyst to speed this development.

Flash and Silverlight, unless recently changed, are not open standard. Google, to gain a competitive advantage over iOS and contrary to their open stance mantra, embraced Flash for mobile, which still runs like sheit on Android even by Adobe's CEO's admission.
