<monetary policy to come to the economy's rescue> Monetary policy is not going to rescue anybody. At this stage of the game, as we pile trillions in new debt on the debt mountain each year, the best that monetary policy can do is dump a lot more perfume-laced shit into the latrine. It does not make for better shit. It creates tons of new shit. But it will keep some people from noticing the rank smell of the shit for a little while longer.

Unfortunately, our major bailout sources -- our global creditors -- they smell the shit and see it piling up at a horrendous rate, overflowing the top of the latrine. They are not at all fooled by perfume. They now know ( if they did not already know), that our shit is now flowing like a river entering flood stage -- and they know that they own way too much of our shit. Now they are asking "how do we avoid taking more of this shit? And how can we get rid of it?"

Monetary policy is not going to come to the rescue. The Chinese are done buying our shit.
