Money doesn't hold the same mystique for me as it seems to hold for you all. It doesn't hold a huge mystique for me, I just don't feel hurt or very envious because other people have more of it. Someone else makes a fortune... I don't have any envy either. So what? You want a medal? Its not that big a deal.......why are you trying to make it into one? In direct terms that is a net plus, the world is better off, even if its just one person being better off. Why is it a net plus? Why is the world better off? I have never heard anything quite so silly or shallow esp. without knowing how a person earned their money. Sure if he stole it (either outright illegal theft or extortion, or rent seeking using the government to give him the money, or a monopoly etc.), then it harms others, but someone is more likely to get rich by creating a net benefit. (Although as government grows, rent seeking grows relative to real wealth creation as a source of high incomes.) Your disgust, even if it has some other source then envy, is an unreasonable and unproductive emotion. I am disgusted because people in this country are starving due to no fault of their own while the rich get richer thanks to all the support from your cohort and are buying ferraris like they are going out of style. The fact that you are so emotionally bankrupt that you can't see how disgusting that dispartiy is not a surprise to me. Its very clear from your posts you gave up any pretense of being an emotional being long ago.
