by your logic all 20 or more of the shale gas/oil companies in the usa are abject liars. when one thinks of rip offs, one thinks of an individual company with a rogue player(s). it sounds like you want to paint everyone of the shale ng companies in the oil/gas industry with rip off schemes. that would be a tremendous conspiracy that would be a model for crooks worldwide. is that what you want to imply?

i wish the doubts coming from the nyt were coming from competent people instead of goat cheese farmers, 3rd rate oil reservoir consultants unable to make a living in the oil biz, and an intern at chk. on the anti-shale gas/oil side you have the ny times outputing articles with these people introducing uncertainty and doubt in unsourced articles every few weeks/months. that is quite a conspiracy.
