Hi SS....Just read the whole saga of wondering where JXM was....I can imagine just being as frightened as you were.....With the gadgets we have today, we think we have to know where everyone is....all the time....BUT I don' blame you one bit...If he is by himself, better to know for sure he's ok, than have him down in a ravine someplace and needing help....

Studing Pioneer Women (and Men) as much as I do has made me wonder so many times how the families of those left behind in the eastern states, worried every day about their loved ones who were going on the Oregon trail, and if they made it....No phones, Not much mail except pony express in later years, no cell phones and certainly no SPOT.

Usually the Pioneers wrote back to their families when they could, and the letters sometimes went around the Horn to get to the East ...and it might have taken a year or two to actually have those much welcomed letters in their hands.

Glad he's OK!
