Aw c'mon Hawk... corollary to that is that too many Americans are nothing but a bunch of junkies with no self control... is that what you think... That dog don't hunt... It's not like someone sailed over, put a gun to their head and sometimes pulled the trigger if they didn't buy stuff that they did not need... America needs to look in the mirror... Another tidbit:
The British were well aware of the destructive nature of opium, but argued that opium sales were necessary because it was the only item which they could sell to the Chinese. Payment for tea, which the British imported, had created a drain of silver from England to China.
