I drove by Powell's three times trying to get to the Oyster Bar about a week ago.

The Oyster Bar looks the same as it did the first time I went there in 1966 but the food isn't the same. My FIL wanted to go there for fried oysters, but he said they were bitter this time. He said his best and worst oysters were at the Oyster Bar.

I hope this is not a trend.

It might be, though. I had to pay for parking underneath a sign on the side of a building that said "Keep Portland Weird!"

Whatever they are doing, it's working. Weird! The street the Oyster Bar is on is blocked off and filled with picnic tables.
