I think that Ascend tech is giving you nothing but PR speel. It is a fact that there is overheating problems with their TNT's. Nothing to be ashamed of. They lead in ports per card better than anybody else. So they have hit upon this problem ahead of others. 3Com, Cisco, Bay will have to deal with this problem as well if they want to have as much ports in their cards. There IS overheating problems. I've seen it at one of their customer site. Their IDSL so far is a failure. Nobody is taking it seriously. They need to rehuddle and come up with something better. US West dropped their IDSL experiment with Ascend. They claim they've solved their problems but have they? Waiting for Ascend to come back and stomp on US Robotics parade.
