S&P has flat out stated there would have been a downgrade had either the 4 Trillion proposed by Boehner or the Ryan Plan been adopted.

But that's not true at all...i watched the managing director of SP on at least three separate occasions and in each he mentioned that a 4T cut would have likely not led to a downgrade...

You're contradicting yourself. You say it isn't true at all, then say "he mentioned" that a 4T have "likely" not led to a downgrade. In fact, it was stated FLATLY.

Yours is NOT a factual account. While it is true that S&P was disgusted, as were most Americans, with the inability of Congress to come to a reasonable solution, S&P has been TOTALLY CLEAR about their requirements: 4T in cuts. Had their been 4T in cuts, they would not have downgraded. It would not have mattered how bloody the fight was in getting there, 4T in cuts would have prevented the downgrade. Not only did they say that in interviews after Friday, they said it BEFORE THE FACT.

but more importantly he also said that the decision was based on inflexibility of washington politics..

Dude, they said time and again they wanted to see 4T in cuts. You're hearing what you want to hear, not what was actually said.
