What you don't understand is that when gov'ts cut back, its the people at the bottom of the food chain who suffer the worst.

Sometimes in the short run.. Other times the cut backs are for pork that goes to the middle class or wealthy. And in the long run big government harms everyone by reducing the growth and dynamism of the country (and also in many cases making a lot of poor people dependent)

Nonsense. Its the people at the bottom who always lose the most. And most people at the bottom are not slackers or lazy like you Rs would have everyone believe. Usually, people at the bottom have some disability......either physical, mental or intellectual. But when screwing them over, its much better to think they are simply lazy.

When people have nothing to lose.

They have quite a lot to lose. The UK is no third world country or totalitarian communist state. And by rioting they do lose.

That's just it.......they figure they've already lost everything there is to lose. Where they live is so terrible, it no longer matters if it burns or not. They no longer care what the police might do to them. Try to imagine how that must feel, Tim. Instead of thinking of a reply to my post, imagine what one must feel like that they don't care if they get caught breaking a window and stealing a boombox or a teevee.
