The chopper problem is that the Chinook is our best chopper over 10K altitude. Depends on how you determine best. It is only the best chopper at that altitude carrying 30-40 troops. Didja ever notice that our casualties over there are tied quite a lot to our use of Afghan "friends?" Nothing new about that. Our B52 strikes in Cambodia, Laos and N. Vietnam were compromised too and I know the details. Didja ever hear about an OPSEC project known as the purple dragon. I was a member of the purple dragon society (and may still be, but not active because it is not affiliated with SF) and spoke at their national meeting in San Diego in as I recall 1993. I introduced them to a wide range of alternate thinking and the tool I invented, that I named the One-Minute Fallout Zone calculator.
